Traveling the Rainbow: Orange

O R A N G E

"Orange, the blend of red and yellow, is a mixture of the energy associated with red and the happiness associated with yellow. Orange is associated with meanings of joy, warmth, heat, sunshine, enthusiasm, creativity, success, encouragement, change, determination, health, stimulation, happiness, fun, enjoyment, balance, sexuality, freedom, expression, and fascination.
Orange is the color of joy and creativity. Orange promotes a sense of general wellness and emotional energy that should be shared... The meaning of the color orange is stimulating, vibrant, and flamboyant." -- From Color Meanings

Traveling the Rainbow: Pink

The color pink is not one of my favorites. In fact, I'm not a big fan of it. But, in keeping with the whole "Spring-y" theme since it is that time of year still, I decided to pick pink for this edition of Traveling the Rainbow-- plus it is J's favorite color (seriously). For some reason, pink was the first color to come to my mind when I started writing this post. Before I even looked through my thousands and thousands of photos on my hard drive I thought, "I'm probably not going to have any pink photos..." but as luck would have it, I found quite a few!

P I N K

Pink, a delicate color that means sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic, charming, feminine, and tenderness, is associated with bubble gum, flowers, babies, little girls, cotton candy, and sweetness.
The color pink is the color of universal love of oneself and of others. Pink represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, and approachability. -- From Color Meanings

Traveling the Rainbow: Yellow

I got such a great response from my first post of Traveling the Rainbow-- thank you to all who enjoyed it! Let's keep the ride going. . .

Since it's Spring, I wanted to pick a nice, cheerful, happy color. So for this edition of Traveling the Rainbow, I picked the color . . .

Y E L L O W :

"...the color of sunshine, hope, and happiness, has conflicting associations. . . yellow stands for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy..."

"Studies show that the meaning of the color yellow can be warmth, cheerfulness, increased mental activity, increased muscle energy. The color yellow helps activate the memory, encourage communication, enhance vision, build confidence, and stimulate the nervous system." --

Traveling the Rainbow: Purple

I am a believer that different colors evoke different feelings, emotions, and/or memories in us all.

When I've looked out into the red dirt and rocky walls of the Grand Canyon, I felt energized and in awe. As I swam in the green waters of Jellyfish Lake in Palau, I felt peace and wonder. When I am in the desert and see the brown dirt, I am always taken back to my childhood when we would always dirtbike (a family tradition of ours). When I swam in the crystal clear blue waters of Caramoan, Philippines, I felt at home.

I want to start something new. I want to find photos from all over the world with a specific color scheme. Beauty and color is everywhere. I want to use this "Traveling the Rainbow" series as a way to show appreciation to it all.

My first color I chose is of course my favorite:
