Boy Behind the Blog: The final one!

I was pretty bummed when I read Mal's blog and saw this would be the final month of the Boy Behind the Blog link-up. It's been really fun doing these every month.

Although I am sad about it, J is not. He is quite relieved. (As you can tell from his short answers, he's pretty over it, lol)

So here it is, the final Boy Behind the Blog:

1. What was your first job?
Washing dishes for $5.35/hr.

2. What is the biggest risk you've ever taken?
Majoring in English at university.

3. What is one thing you can't live without?
Water.

4. What is your least favorite food?
American "cheese" singles.

5. If you could time travel, where/when would you go?
Barcelona in the late 1920s.

Well, it's been fun! We-- excuse me-- I had fun participating each month. It will be missed!

Boy Behind the Blog #11

I'm a little on the late train with this one, but better late than never!

Here is this round's of Boy Behind the Blog. This time, it took several reminders and a lot of sighs from J to get him to do it, but he did it nonetheless! I'll take that.

1. Your significant other’s blog; a blessing or a curse?
Curse.

2. Do you read your wife's blog?
Sometimes.

3. What is one thing you can do better than anyone you know?
Rap.

4. What is your favorite TV sitcom from the 90's?
Seinfeld.

5. If you were opening a small business or shop, what would it be? What goods or services would you sell?
I would sell universal remote controls for televisions.

Linking up with Mal!

The Boy Behind the Blog #10

Another round of the Boy Behind the Blog! Here are March's questions and J's answers:

1. What's your lucky number?
I don't have a lucky number.

2. Do you have a lucky charm?
I don't have a lucky charm.  I don't believe in luck.  There's no such thing as lucky people and unlucky people.  Just rich people and poor people.

3. Do you fill out a bracket for March Madness? Who do you want to win?
I don't watch basketball.

4. March 10th is "Middle Name Pride Day." What's your middle name?
Eugenio.

5. Submit one question that would would like to see on a future The Boys Behind the Blog.
This is a trick question. If I provided a question here, I would have to answer it in the future.
(Ha, he's a smart cookie!)

The Boy Behind the Blog #9

I can't believe this is the 9th round of TBBTB for me-- and what's more incredible is that J still does this for me every month. He's the best. =)

Here are his answers for February's round of The Boy Behind the Blog:

1. If you could live anywhere, where would you live?

2. Sand or snow?
Sand by itself is pretty useless to me, but if it comes with waves and warm weather, I'll take it.

3. What Winter Olympic sport would you rock at?
I'm ok at snowboarding, but curling looks more fun.

4. You're cooking a romantic dinner- what is your go-to dish?
Fancy Feast gourmet chicken flavor.

5. Fill in the blank: This year, I gave (your wife/girlfriend/fiance's name) a ____________________ for Valentine's Day?
This year I gave Leia a hard time for Valentine's Day.

(Um, he sure did. Long story, but he made it up to me on Saturday with a 5-course home cooked meal that was amazing! I forgave him after that.)

The Boy Behind the Blog #8: Movies & the New Year

First round of The Boys Behind the Blog of 2014:

1. What was your favorite movie of 2013?
The Kings of Summer was my favorite, hands down. I also liked Mama and The Place Beyond the Pines.

2. What is your all time favorite movie quote?
I've got hundreds.  Mostly from the same movie.  "You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me."

Another good one: "It's wet ain't it?  Drink it!"
And one more:  "I may not understand it. I may not even necessarily agree with it. But I'll tell you what I've accepted: just sort of glide along. You want to keep things on an even keel, this is what I'm saying. You want to go with the flow. The sea refuses no river. The idea is to remain in a state of constant departure while always arriving. It saves on introductions and goodbyes. The ride does not require explanation - just occupants. That's where you guys come in. It's like you come onto this planet with a crayon box. Now you may get the 8 pack, you may get the 16 pack but it's all in what you do with the crayons - the colors - that you're given. Don't worry about coloring within the lines or coloring outside the lines - I say color outside the lines, you know what I mean? Color all over the page; don't box me in! We're in motion to the ocean. We are not land locked, I'll tell you that."

3. What is your favorite type of movie? (Action, scary, comedy, etc)/
I like them all, but Leia doesn't let me watch Scary movies cuz she has nightmares, so maybe comedies, or foreign dramas.

4. What is your New Year's Resolution?
I've got three.  1) Pay off the credit card.  2) Play at least 40 open mics/writer's nights throughout the course of the year.  3) Write and demo at least 2 songs a month.

5. Finish the sentence: This year I will....
This year I will refer to question #4 when someone wants to know what I plan to do this year.

The Boy Behind the Blog: Breakfast & Holidays

Another round of BBTB is upon us! I just want to thank my hubby for taking 5 minutes every month to answer the questions and getting a little involved with my blog & supporting me and my hobby.

Now, on to the questions and his answers:

1. What is your favorite cereal?
I assume that "cereal" here is referring to processed, packaged food that is really nothing more than wood pulp flavored with sugar, artificially dyed and fortified with chemically derived vitamins, and marketed to unassuming children who have no concept of what should and should not be considered "food".  So probably Cookie Crisp.

2. Pancakes or waffles?
Waffles.

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
I like the tradition of replacing holiday traditions with shopping days, because let's be honest, why would I spend time with my friends and family when I could buy things I don't need?

4. Finish the sentence: All I want for Christmas is...
All I want for Christmas is sharks with friggin laser beams on their heads.  Is that so much to ask?

5. What was your best moment of 2013?
Can't pick one.  There were too many.  Let's say every moment up until the one when we moved back to the U.S.

The Boy Behind the Blog: Music & Thanks

Time for my fave link-up where J gets to be a little more involved with my whole blog thing. I may force him (lovingly, of course) to do this every month. And I know he feels obligated, but I know he does it because he loves me and he knows it makes me happy.

Anyways- on to this month's questions & J's crazy answers:

1. Who is your favorite band/musician?
The wiggles

2. What was your first CD/tape?
My mom bought me No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom & Fugees - The Score for Christmas.   She bought the Fugees album based on "Killing Me Softly", so she was unpleasantly surprised when I'd later walk around the house singing along to things like "And even after all my logic and my theory, I add a mothaf**** so you ign'ant n****s hear me."

3. Who was your first concert?
The first show I saw was in Pittsburgh at a place called Nick's Fat City.  My friends and I were all about this VH1 show called Bands on the Run, and the band we liked from that show was called Flickerstick, from Texas.  So we went to see them.

4. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Cranberry sauce.  With berries.

5. Finish the sentence: I am thankful for...
My family.  Especially my loving wife who makes me answer questions all the time.

The Boy Behind the Blog III

You know what- "The Boy Behind the Blog" is my favorite time of the month in blogland. I love that my husband supports me and my blogging hobby and is willing to answer these questions. I love reading his answers.

This time, he didn't give me a hard time at all about having to answer these questions. I guess he's getting used to it.

1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
A duckbill platypus.

2. What is your favorite meal?
Anything with lots of fat and salt.  Bonus points for including animal flesh and being breaded and deep fried.

3. Do you use any forms of Social Media? What is your favorite?
I use facebook.

4. Beer, wine, liquor, other, or none of the above?
Red, red wine.

5. Complete the sentence: "Never have I ever..."
began a sentence in such a grammatically awkward way, and I'm not going to start now.

The Boy Behind the Blog II

It's time for another round of The Boy Behind the Blog! (To read my husband's answers to last month's questions, you can click here.)

This time, I didn't have to do too much pleading with him to answer these questions. I just got a "not again..." type of talk and also a "I'm going to have to do this EVERY month?!" Eh, he'll get used to it.

His answers to these questions for this month are... well... entertaining? They definitely made me laugh out loud.

1. What would you do with $1,000,000?
I would retire immediately, put the million dollars into a CD with my bank at an APY of around 1.8%, move to the Philippines, and live comfortably on the $18,000/year I would earn in interest.  That is, until I turn like, 40.  Then I would ball out, become addicted to heroin, buy a couple dolphins maybe, and go out in a blaze of glory.

2. What is your dream job?
To make music and get paid for it.

3. Who is your celebrity crush?
Erykah Badu.   Ooo.

4. What is your favorite sports team?
I'm pretty open-minded, and I like to see any good competition between two good teams in a sport I can understand (like, WTF is cricket?), but the only team I can get excited about watching on a regular basis is FC Barcelona.

5. What was your AOL/AIM screen name back in the day?
Same as my email.  But that's private.

We share the same celebrity crush & favorite sports team. That's why we get along so well. ;)

The Boy Behind the Blog

My husband loves and supports me in everything I do, including my blogging. He smiles and gives me a look whenever I geek out over something that's happened to me and this blog. Sometimes he makes fun of me, but I know it's all love (or at least I like to think that).

I saw this "The Boys Behind The Blog" link-up and thought "Jason's not going to want to do this... it's way too silly for him..." but when I saw that it's only 5 questions, I thought it might be do-able. So I asked him, in my cute way that I do to convince him to do something for me, to just answer these 5 simple questions. He gave me the look, said I was silly, etc. etc.... but after a little more pleading, he obliged.

Here are his answers to this month's "The Boys Behind The Blog" questions. I told him he could write what he wanted- I wouldn't change a thing. So these are his answers, unaltered:

1. What celebrity would play you in a movie about your life?
    Steve Buscemi

2. What is your dream car?
A converted, fully electric, 1988 Ford Bronco II with a body kit and a built in recording studio.

3. Do you have any tattoos? What, where, why?
2 on my arm.  Filipino stuff.

4. Boxers or briefs?
    Hybrids.

5. List 3 random facts about yourself.
    a) I only wear deodorant for job interviews. b) Sometimes when I'm alone, I sing at the top of my lungs to Miley Cyrus songs. c) I'm 5'6" tall with big shoes on.

I love him because he always makes me laugh (even though the answers to these questions are true! Haha...)
