So here is my (partial) list of places I want to go to in North America:
Anywhere where I can see the Northern Lights (on my bucket list!) - i.e. Canada (Calgary, Ontario, Yukon Territory and/or Manitoba) and/or Alaska (Anchorage, Fairbanks, and/or Denali):
Alaska {via} |

Kodiak Island:

Chichen Itza, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico:

Yellowstone National Park:

Quebec City, Canada:
Arches National Park:

Portland, Oregon:

Honorable mentions:
Philadelphia (for the cheese steaks)
Boston (for the clam chowder)
Niagara Falls
Toronto, Canada
I could have probably gone on and on with this one- there is just so much I have still yet to see here! What's on your North America list? Have you been to any of these places? What are some must-see/do/eat things?
Alaska and Canada are on my list!

Awesome! I hope you (and I!) get to experience them!
DeleteI agree completely with you! I've managed to cross off Arches NP and Austin, TX, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't go back! And I don't know how you kept the list so short - I think just about every National Park I haven't been to is on my list! Thanks for the uplifting post on a dreary day.
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to keep it short, but I could have definitely gone on and on and included all the National Parks! Thanks for reading!
DeleteI agree! I want to take a trip closer to home next time, so I should put together my own list! My guy REALLY wants to see the Northern lights, so that would be on the list. Otherwise, I would love to go to Chicago, Austin, and Portland in the U.S. and Argentina, Honduras, and Peru in South America!
ReplyDeleteOooo I can't wait to see what's on your list! I need to start making my South America one soon!
DeleteMy North American list is endless...there's Chicago, Portland, Austin, Yellowstone, Toronto, Quebec, Seattle, New Orleans, Utah in general, and many many more places...time to save money. Haha!
ReplyDeleteOh yes- New Orleans is on my list, too! I'm with you- I need to save $$$ too!
DeleteAlaska is beautiful. I've worked a medical mission in an Eskimo village in the Seward peninsula during late winter/early summer. Seeing natives drive 90mph on a snowmobile over the 8 ft. frozen Bering Sea and then fish out king crabs was unreal. One of the older guys that had kept a dog sled team was seriously gonna allow me to drive his dogs (like he was letting me drive his car). We ordered pizza from Nome and it was delivered hours later (still hot) via a small plane for ten bucks extra. Haha. Too bad I missed out on the aurora borealis, they said the best time was around Jan-Feb (but the sun didn't set until 11PM).
ReplyDeleteWow- sounds like it was quite the experience!!
DeleteI would love to see the Northern Lights...it just seems so magical and how awesome to see something so beautiful in the vast sky! x
ReplyDeleteGreat list!! I grew up in Alaska and highly recommend it! =)
ReplyDeleteI've heard some great things about Alaska! I can't wait to go some day!
DeleteI definitely think that North America is a totally underrated travel destination - there are so, so many amazing things to see there! In fact, pretty much all of my greatest encounters with natural beauty have been in the US and Canada. Yellow Stone National Park is definitely on my travel bucket list as is Chichen Itza. And pretty much all of Alaska. Not to speak of re-visiting the few places I've already been to. I could go on forever! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree- it is underrated! So much to do and see here.
